New Jersey resident Eric McKinley joined eHarmony.com only to discover the site had no options for same-sex singles. The eventual settlement of McKinley's lawsuit, negotiated by New Jersey's attorney general, mandated that a new site focused on same-sex relationships be started, and that the first 10,000 gay users receive a free six-month subscription.
