Egg Rolls

  • An egg roll is a traditional Asian appetizer, served throughout East Asia before it spread worldwide.

    Egg rolls consist of thinly sliced meat and vegetables wrapped in dough and deep fried. In the United States, they are typically served with a sweet sauce for dipping.

    In the United Kingdom, egg rolls are called "pancake rolls", while "egg roll" refers to an egg wrapped in bread.

  • Egg Roll Ingredients

    1. A meat: Chicken, pork or shrimp are all suitable
    2. Vegetables: Onions, mushrooms, carrots and cabbage are common
    3. Egg roll wrappers
    4. One beaten egg
    5. Ginger, Garlic
    6. Soy Sauce
    7. Oyster Sauce

  • Making Egg Rolls

    1. Stir Fry garlic and scallions in peanut oil for about a minute.
    2. Add other desired vegetables and cook for another five minutes, mixing in soy and oyster sauce.
    3. Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool.
    4. Spread filling in the center of egg roll dough and wrap evenly and tightly.
    5. Fry the egg rolls in peanut oil for 4 minutes each.
