Egg McMuffin History
The McMuffin sandwich was invented by Herb Petersen in 1972. Petersen was working at McDonald's when he met Ray Kroc the head of the company. Petersen told Kroc about his idea for a breakfast sandwich and then served him one. 1997 Egg McMuffin Commercial
This 1997 McDonald’s commercial features the Egg McMuffin. The commercial shows the creator of the Egg McMuffin and his son. They are standing in front of a McDonald’s restaurant and the son gives the father a kiss on the cheek. Herb Petersen is then shown inside the McDonald’s holding an Egg McMuffin. He says that the sandwich is his baby. At the end of the commercial, Petersen is then shown driving away in a car. He says that he will see viewers tomorrow, bright and early.
