Edward Scott McMichael of Seattle, Washington, was known by locals as the "Tuba Man" because he was often seen outside local events wearing novelty hats and playing the tuba.SeattlePi: Remembering Seattle's Tuba Man with Music (November 14, 2008)
On October 25, 2008, 53-year-old McMichael was beaten by a group of teenagers who robbed him for his wallet and his ring. He died days later. Police arrested three 15-year-old boys in connection with the beating.
