Obama Auto Industry Policy
President Barack Obama stated in a press conference on March 30, 2009, that the administration is committed to the survival of the auto industry, namely General Motors and Chrysler. However, the president went on to state that the government will not be providing any other long-term bailout for the auto giants. The administration plans to guarantee warranties by the automakers in order to not effect sales a great deal.
