Edie Adams, the actress, singer and widow of pioneering comedian Ernie Kovacs, died at the age of 81 on October 15, 2008. Adams featured on Kovacs' TV show before the pair eloped in 1954. She won a 1957 Tony Award for her performance in the stage adaptation of the comic strip Lil' Abner.
