Eddie Cochran was an American rock musician who had a big impact on early rock and roll music despite his short career. A multi-instrumentalist, Cochran played guitar, drums, and piano. He originally played in the group The Cochran Brothers, but then went solo in the mid-1950s. Cochran found success by appearing and performing in films such as The Girl Can't Help It and Untamed Youth. Among his hit songs were "Three Steps to Heaven," "C'mon Everybody," and "Summertime Blues." The latter has been covered by countless artists, including The Beach Boys, The Who, Rush and Blue Cheer.
In 1960 when Cochran was only 21 years old, he died when the taxi he was riding in crashed into a lamp post in Chippenham, England.
