- Co-founder of Quinn Gillepsie & Associates, a bi-partisan lobbying firm
- Lobbied for John Roberts' appointment to the Supreme Court
- Has been accused of being an "embedded lobbyist"

Lobbyist and former Chairman of the Republican Party Ed Gillespie replaced Dan Bartlett as Counselor to President George W. Bush in June of 2007. As Counselor to the President, Gillespie is responsible for overseeing all aspects of White House communications, including the Press Office and the Offices of Communications, Media Affairs, and Speechwriting
