Ebony Magazine is a monthly periodical directed to the African-American community. It usually features famous Black celebrities and figures on the cover along with a printed interview. Ebony Magazine History
Ebony Magazine was founded in November of 1945 by John H. Johnson. The goal of the magazine was to offer hope by becoming the first magazine to show positive images of African-Americans. Michael Jackson Appears in Ebony Magazine
Many African-American celebrities have been interviewed in Ebony magazine over the years. Some have done so to begin their careers and others have done so as part of a comeback. In 2007, Michael Jackson decided to appear on the cover of Ebony as part of his return to the music industry.
