eBay Motors is an offshoot of the online auction giant eBay. Automobiles are not sold through the general auction format on eBay, but rather through this specialized area.

On July 10, 2009, General Motors (GM) announced it is gearing up to begin new car sales on eBay Motors, but this doesn't mean that you can go get a new GMC Truck or Suburban direct from GM.

This is being tested in a pilot program to California dealers only, and California state law does not allow auto manufacturers to sell direct to the public, so all sales from GM on eBay Motors will be to car dealers.
