"The first half of the film is pure Hitchcock, its combination of conciseness and idiosyncrasy demonstrating his mastery of silent narration."Anna Smith, Time Out Film Guidehttp://www.timeout.com/film/reviews/63680/easy_virtue.html

"Hitchcock's innovative touches are already in evidence in this early work but Coward's strength was sparkling dialogue, which makes his work a poor fit for the silent cinema."—TVGuidehttp://movies.tvguide.com/easy-virtue/review/136751
