Easy Rider is a 1969 film about two men, Wyatt played by Peter Fonda and Billy played by Dennis Hopper who, after completing a successful drug deal, set out on a cross country road trip to New Orleans in order to make it there before Mardi Gras. Written by Fonda, Hopper and Terry Southern, and featuring Jack Nicholson in one of his first starring roles, the movie has become a classic of American cinema and is usually considered to be one of the definitive statements of the 1960s counterculture.
