Paulk had been involved in numerous sex scandals during his years at the church. In 2003 Paulk settled a case out of court and in 2007 he admitted to having an affair with a church member. The church was handed over tho his nephew D.E. Paulk in 2007; later a DNA test proved that his 'nephew' was actually his son.
