Eagan, Minnesota is located in the state of Minnesota in the United States. Eagan is above where the Mississippi and Minnesota rivers meet. The city was named in 1854, and gets its name from one of the first members of the Board of Supervisors, Patrick Eagan. At the time the city was officially formed in 1860 it had a population of 567 that was mainly made up of immigrants from Ireland, Germany and French Canada. The people of the town were generally farmers that began to grow onions which were shipped all over the United States. Eagan MN History
From the time Eagan was formed until 1893 when the first Town Hall was built, the board members would meet in the schoolhouse. After the original Town Hall burned, a new one was built closer to the center of town in 1914.
