The European Aeronautic Defense and Space Co., or EADS, based in The Netherlands, specializes in aerospace, defense contracting and related services. After partnering with Northrop Grumman on a $35 billion deal to resupply the U.S. Air Force with 179 tankers, EADS is now the second-largest foreign defense contractor after Britain's BAE Systems.
