The E8 is a complex, symmetrical mathematical pattern. It is part of a class of geometrical patterns known as Lie Groups.American Institute of Mathematics: Representations of E8 Physicist Garrett Lisi has used E8 as a model for his unified "Theory of Everything" which describes the nature and structure of the universe.Telegraph.co.uk: "Surfer dude stuns physicists with theory of everything" (November 14, 2007)'
E8 and Cosmology
Garrett Lisi has proposed that E8 may be the key to unifying the theory of the universe. There are still difficulties in testing this theory, due to limitations of current scientific instruments and knowledge. However, the Large Hadron Collider at CERN may be capable of testing the theory when it comes online in August of 2008.Telegraph.co.uk: "Surfer dude stuns physicists with theory of everything" (November 14, 2007)'
