With the new controller featuring a 6.2-inch screen, users won't have to give up their gameplay if someone else wants to use the television. Other accessories, such as the Wii Balance Board and Wii Steering Wheel, can be used with the new controller as well. For example, you can weigh yourself with Wii Fit without any need to use a television.
The controller is equipped with two circle pads, a directional combo pad, ZL and ZR trigger buttons on the back, speakers, a gyroscope, a video camera and touchscreen capabilities. While it was designed to be capable with as many games as possible, it was not designed, however, to be a portable gaming unit. So, the images that can be displayed on the controller screen can only be generated by the Wii U console, and the controller needs to be in the vicinity of the console in order to work. But, users will be able to "stretch" a game and use both the television screen and the controller screen for different purposes at the same time. On top of everything, the controller can also be used for web browsing
In short, the new Nintendo Wii U attempts to create a strong bond between games, television, the internet and users.
