After the quelling of the Yellow Turban Rebellion, corruption within the Imperial Court continued to weaken the Han. Amidst the confusion, the warlord Dong Zhuo arrives at the capital city of Luoyang and seizes power, beginning a rule of tyranny. After declining an offer to serve Dong Zhuo, Cao Cao must escape Luoyang.
Dynasty Warriors 7 Walkthrough - Dong Zhuo's Trap
Player: Cao Cao. Talk to Dong Zhuo to begin the mission.
Mission Objectives: 1.) Cao Cao reaches escape point.
2.) Cao Cao must survive.
Move out of the room and head left. Proceed down the hallway and turn left into a room.
Defeat the lieutenants to rescue the handmaidens. They will reward you with some upgrades.
Go back out to the hallway and head down the opposite direction. Defeat Li Jue to open the door.
Enter the room and meet up with Chen Gong. He will assist you in your escape. Exit through the opposite door.
Head down the hall and a cutscene will play. Meet Lu Bu. Unlike other officers, Lu Bu won’t flinch when you attack him. He also does a lot more damage than everyone else, so you should probably just run away from him. You are not required to defeat him.
Continue down the hall and turn left. Keep going until you’re in a very large room with enemies.
Turn right and defeat the lieutenant standing in front of a closed door. Once you defeat him, the door will open.
Enter the room and destroy the tiger cage. The tigers will help you fight briefly. Head back into the large room and defeat Xu Rong and Li Su (marked by green circles).
Head east through the door and run past the ballista. Defeat Li Meng to stop the ballista and to open the next door. This part can be tough since Lu Bu, the ballista and a lot of soldiers will be coming after you. Keep moving so the ballista can’t target you, and if your health runs into the red, run around until your musou gauge is filled. Cao Cao’s first musou is a forward-facing AOE attack, with a chance to freeze enemies that survive it.
Go through the door until you see another ballista. Fortunately, Lu Bu doesn’t pursue you past this point, and retreats. Defeat Guo Si to take control of the ballista, using the previous tactic to dodge the ballista. Afterwards, use the ballista to destroy the barricade.
Continue down the hall to reach the escape point.
