Although the Coalition Forces succeeded against Dong Zhuo, Dong Zhuo escapes defeat by relocating the capital to Chang An. However, he is soon betrayed and killed by his retainer, Lu Bu. With the coalition disbanded, Cao Cao is a warlord among many that aims to expand their power. An opportunity arises when remnants of the Yellow Turbans from Qing Province attacks Yan Province. Cao Cao marches to defeat the remaining rebels.
Dynasty Warriors 7 Walkthrough - Battle of Yan Province
As a general tip for this mission, stick close to Cao Cao at all times. He has a tendency to wander off by himself, and it is easy to lose track of him if you are not paying attention.
Move westward along with your allies and start attacking the enemy. Once your main force enters the small encampment at the south, your force will split up into two. Follow Cao Cao’s group to the west.
Cao Cao will rush straight into the enemy camp at the south-west corner of the map. Follow him and defeat the ambush units that will appear. Try to defeat the enemy archers first since they can do a lot of damage to you if left unattended. Dian Wei’s first musou attack is a grapple that cannot be blocked and deals a massive AOE around him, so use that to your advantage.
Follow Cao Cao as he moves north, then east. Along the way will be several enemy foot soldiers, which are nothing difficult. You can defeat them for useful power ups. Just make sure you don’t fall too far behind from Cao Cao.
After crossing the second bridge, the enemies will release tigers against Cao Cao. You will be surrounded by a lot of enemies. Take out the enemy archers first, then use your musou to clear the crowd. Unfortunately, tigers cannot be grappled directly by Dian Wei’s musou. However, the AOE damage will still affect them.
Follow Cao Cao north into another enemy camp. Use the same strategies as before.
Follow Cao Cao westward until he runs into another ambush. You will be required to defeat 100 Yellow Turban soldiers. Your musou attack can take care of that easily.
Follow Cao Cao into the last enemy camp at the north-west. After capturing the camp, head to the centre of the map to defeat the “big man”. After a brief cutscene, you will recognize the big man as Xu Zhu. Be careful of Xu Zhu’s first musou, which is a rolling attack. He should be relatively easy, since all your allies will help you.
