While your main force was engaging Tao Qian’s forces in Xu Province, Lu Bu defeated Xiahou Dun who was guarding Yan Province. Now, Cao Cao’s main force is caught in a pincer attack between Lu Bu and Tao Qian. After repelling Zhang Liao’s initial attack, Xu Zhu and Dian Wei must protect Cao Cao from Lu Bu’s main force, lead by Lu Bu himself.
Dynasty Warriors 7 Walkthrough - Battle of Xu Province Part 2
Player: Xu Zhu.
Mission Objectives: 1.) Defeat Tao Qian.
2.) Cao Cao must survive.
Stay in your main camp and defend Cao Cao from the invading army. Soon enough, Diao Chan and Lu Bu will rush your main camp.
Lu Bu will not flinch when attacked, and does a lot more damage than other officers. Furthermore, if Diao Chan is defeated, Lu Bu will enter rage mode and become even more powerful. However, you are not required to defeat him. Just distract him from Cao Cao long enough for Xun Yu to launch the fire attack against Lu Bu’s forces. Lu Bu will then withdraw.
Exit out of your camp and move south down the cliff to help your allies engage the enemy. Due to the fire attack, the enemy will be severely damaged so it will be pretty easy to deal with them. After a while, they will start fleeing. Try defeating as many fleeing officers as you can to collect the upgrades.
You have a choice of either going south or going east across the bridge. Either way, you will end up in the same place near the centre of the map. An ambush will appear inside the enemy camp at the centre of the map. Using Xu Zhu’s rolling musou is a useful way to clear the crowd and collect power ups. There is a pot with 100% recovery in the camp if you run into trouble.
Head south, and Liu Bei’s forces will arrive in the north-east to help Tao Qian. Fight your way to the enemy catapults, and defeat Chen Deng and Chen Gui (marked by green circles) to take control of the catapults. During this time, Liu Bei’s forces may have already caught up to you. It can become a bit chaotic since Liu Bei, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, Chen Deng, and Chen Gui will gang up on you at the same time. Take care of the enemy archers first, then use your rolling musou to get out of sticky situations.
Use the catapults to destroy the castle gates. Rush the castle and defeat Tao Qian.
