Zhang Xiu’s surrender was a trap planned by his strategist, Jia Xu. Although Cao Cao managed to escape, Dian Wei gave up his life to do so. Cao Cao returns to his camp outside Wan castle, and prepares to lay siege to the castle.
Dynasty Warriors 7 Walkthrough - Battle of Wan Castle Part 2
Player: Cao Cao. Talk to Xiahou Dun to begin the mission.
Mission Objectives: 1.) Defeat Jia Xu.
2.) Yue Jin must survive.
Exit your main camp and head north to engage the enemy. Defeat the enemy officers marked by green circles to lower the drawbridge to allow your forces to advance.
Continue to head north and your forces will split into two to attack the castle from the south and east. Your force entering from the south will be ambushed by a fire attack, and your forces to the east will be ambushed by ballistas. Your force will start retreating.
Follow your force back to your main camp, and Liu Biao’s forces will arrive from the south to attack you. Rush back to your main camp and protect Yue Jin. During this time, Zhang Xiu will send his forces out from the castle to attack.
A lot of enemies will be inside your camp at this point. If you have unlocked it, Cao Cao’s second musou is an aerial version of his first musou. It is useful as a recovery attack if you get knocked into the air. In addition, use Cao Cao’s EX attack with the sword to use an AOE attack that freezes enemies.
After all enemies in your camp are cleared, head north to the area marked by a green circle. Wait until the enemy crosses the bridge and follows you into the green circled area. This will trigger an ambush on the enemy and will confuse them temporarily. Use this opportunity to surround and defeat the enemy officers.
Head north across the bridge and engage Jia Xu. Defeat the enemy archers first, then concentrate on Jia Xu. He shouldn’t be too difficult, considering that all your allies will help you. However, his attacks are pretty fast and can combo you pretty quickly. In addition, he has a grapple musou that cannot be blocked.
