Dynasty Warriors 7 - Shu Mission 16 - Battle of Mt. Dingjun

With Yi Province under Liu Bei’s control, China was divided into Three Kingdoms: Cao Cao of Wei, Liu Bei of Shu, and Sun Quan of Wu. Wei and Shu were about to confront each other at Hanzhong. Planning a two-front attack, Zhuge Liang returned a portion of Jing back to Wu and asked them to attack Wei at Hefei. Zhuge Liang sent the veteran general Huang Zhong to lead an attack against Xiahou Yuan’s defenders on Mt. Dingjun.

Dynasty Warriors 7 - Shu Mission 16 - Battle of Mt. Dingjun

Player: Guan Yu. Talk to Guan Ping or Guan Suo to begin the mission.

Mission Objectives: 1.) Defeat Niu Jin and Cao Tai.

2.) Guan Yu must survive.

Head north and start defeating the officers outside your camp. Head east into Xiangyang and capture the castle.

Wei reinforcements will arrive at the western end of the map. Head over there and defeat the officers, who will all be generic versions. Pull the lever which will flood the enemy castle.

Board the ship and wait until it reaches the enemy castle. Go on the walls, then jump down into the castle. Defeat Niu Jin and Cao Tai, who are both generic officers.

Sima Yi will arrive with enemy reinforcements to the north. When you are fighting Niu Jin and Cao Tai, he will probably have time to reach you. Your only targets are Niu Jin and Cao Tai, but you can defeat the reinforcements first to get upgrades.

Dynasty Warriors 7 - Shu Mission 16 - Battle of Mt. Dingjun

Player: Huang Zhong. Talk to Guard to begin the mission,

Mission Objectives: 1.) Defeat Cao Cao.

2.) Zhuge Liang must survive.

Head south and jump off the mountain. Defeat the enemy officers in your way, then head south into the enemy camp. This camp is guarded by Xiahou Dun. Use Huang Zhong’s first musou to launch enemies into the air, which can be useful for both defeating officers and mobs.

Head east towards Ma Chao and help him fight Xiahou Yuan. Huang Zhong’s second musou is an aerial AOE attack.

Head north and enter the enemy camp. This camp is guarded by Zhang He. Defeat him to capture the camp.

Head west, then north to Yan Yan. Help escort him east to the enemy supply depot and Mt. Tiandang. When you get close to the supply depot, Xiahou Yuan will reappear at your position. Use the same strategy that you used to defeat him before.

Head east into the enemy supply depot. It is guarded by generic officers, so this is nothing difficult.

Head south and defeat the enemy officer guarding the bridge. Go west and cross the bridge. Capture the two enemy camps to the south of your position.

Enter the base of Mt. Dingjun from the west side. Help your forces climb up the mountain, defeating enemies who get in your way. When you enter into the enemy camp, Sima Yi will appear and set a fire trap which will reduce your health. Defeat Sima Yi to proceed.

Climb the mountain to the peak and enter the enemy main camp. There will be a lot of enemies, so defeat the enemy archers first. Then you can concentrate on Cao Cao.
