Although the Coalition Forces succeeded against Dong Zhuo, Dong Zhuo escapes defeat by relocating the capital to Chang An. However, he is soon betrayed and killed by his retainer, Lu Bu. With the coalition disbanded, warlords around China were aiming to expand their power. However, Liu Bei’s status as a commoner prevented him from having a land to call his own. Liu Bei went to find his old friend, Gongsun Zan. Gongsun Zan received a request from Tao Qian for reinforcements to help him defend against Cao Cao. Liu Bei took this opportunity to volunteer. Gongsun Zan lent him troops as well as his own officer Zhao Yun to help Liu Bei.

Dynasty Warriors 7 - Shu Mission 05 - Battle of Xu Province

Player: Zhang Fei. Talk to Zhao Yun to begin the mission.

Mission Objectives: 1.) Defeat Cao Cao.

2.) Tao Qian and Liu Bei must survive.

Head south, then east and engage the enemy. Head north and help Tao Qian defeat the officers that are attacking him.

Escort Tao Qian south to Xuzhou Castle. Defeat Cao Hong who is outside the castle to open the gates. Enter the castle and defeat its occupants. One of them will be Cao Ren. Cao Ren has a grappling musou attack. Use Zhang Fei’s first musou attack, which is a grapple, to defeat strong officers such as Cao Ren.

Head west and defeat the enemy army outside. One of the enemy officers will be Xiahou Yuan. He has a missile musou attack that might be difficult to dodge. If you see him charging it up, position yourself to block it.

Continue north-west and enter the enemy main camp. Defeat Xu Zhu to capture it. Xu Zhu has a rolling musou attack, and a grappling musou.

Head west and follow the path down to the area marked by a green circle. You will be ambushed by foot soldiers, which will be nothing difficult.

The road forks into two. You can choose which way to go. Either path will have enemy officers ambushing you. If you want, you can go down both paths and defeat all the officers to get upgrades.

Head north across the river. Lu Bu’s forces will arrive as an allied reinforcement. Lu Bu’s forces will have strong officers such as Zhang Liao, Diao Chan, and Lu Bu to help you. Help their force push north towards the enemy main camp.

Defeat Xiahou Dun and the officers in front of the enemy main camp. Xiahou Dun has two forward AOE musous, one from ground and the other from air.

Enter the enemy main camp. Cao Cao will have Dian Wei there to defend him. Dian Wei has a grappling musou and an aerial AOE musou. Cao Cao has two AOE musous, one from ground and the other from air.
