Cao Shuang’s failure to conquer Shu lost his reputation as a general. The officials of Wei called for Sima Yi to return, but Sima Yi continued to feign illness to make sure the Cao family does not suspect any threat from him. Cao Shuang holds a feast for several days in order to gain back goodwill from his colleagues, but all it did was strain the Imperial coffers. One day Cao Shuang left to go hunting, and Sima Yi finally sees the opportunity to grasp power.

Dynasty Warriors 7 - Jin Mission 03 - Coup d'etat

Player: Sima Yi.

Mission Objectives: 1.)

2.) Sima Yi must survive.

Head east, then north. Continue east and capture the guard post. Go further east and capture the armory.

An enemy messenger will move out from the central gate to warn Cao Shuang. Intercept and defeat him. Head north-west and capture the second guard post. Another enemy messenger will move out. Intercept him when you can.

Huan Fan will start to flee from the palace. Pursue him and defeat him.

Go into the palace and continue east. Cao Shuang will appear at the east end of the map. When you reach him, a short cutscene will play. He will start running from you, and more enemies will come towards you.

Pursue after Cao Shuang west, defeating enemies along the way. Cao Shuang will lock himself in the throne room. Defeat He Yan to open the doors.

Head inside the throne room and defeat Cao Shuang. He is a generic officer, so there is nothing to worry about.
