• Dustin Hoffman is an American actor who starred as Benjamin Braddock in the 1967 Mike Nichols film, The Graduate. Hoffman was nominated for a Best Actor Oscar for his role in The Graduate and although he did not win then, he went on to win for an Academy Award his roles in Kramer vs Kramer (1979) and Rain Man (1988).

  In 2009, Hoffman starred opposite Emma Thompson in the romantic film Last Chance Harvey.

• Career

  • Dustin Hoffman has starred in several high-profile, successful films, including as Ratso Rizzo in Midnight Cowboy (1969), as Carl Bernstein opposite Robert Redford's Bob Woodward in All the President's Men (1976) and as Thomas "Babe" Levy in Marathon Man (1976). In a comedic turn, Hoffman starred as cross-dressing Michael Dorsey/Dorothy Michaels in the Sydney Pollack film, Tootsie (1982).

  • Continuing to take on less serious roles, Hoffman starred as Captain Hook in Steven Spielberg's fantasy film, Hook alongside Robin Williams, Bob Hoskins and Julia Roberts and as "Mumbles" in the Warren Beatty film adaptation of Dick Tracy.

  • Hoffman has also worked on some satirical, offbeat projects such as Wag the Dog and I Heart Huckabees. He also provided the voice of Roscuro (a rat) for the animated film The Tale of Despereaux which was released in December 2008.
