Duran Duran are a New Wave Pop band who rose to fame during the "Music Video" era of early MTV and went on to become one of the most popular bands of the 1980s.
Background
As one of the premiere bands of the "New Romantic" movement of the early 80s, Duran Duran had a string of hit songs, including "Hungry Like the Wolf", "Rio" and "Girls on Film". After changing lineups in the late 80s and early 1990s, the original band reunited in 2001 to release the album Astronaut and its followup Red Carpet Massacre. They are currently working with producer Mark Ronson on their 13th studio album.
