Dunkin' Donuts Salmonella Scare
On June 30, 2009, Dunkin' Donuts announced that it was suspending sales of products that were made with dried milk products supplied by Plainview Milk Products of Plainview, Minnesota because of concerns about salmonella. Company Expansion
During a time of recession in the summer of 2010, Dunkin' Donuts experience growth, opening up 338 brand new locations during the first half of the year. Though the vast majority of these locations were part of the company's stretch into international markets, 75 of the new stores were located within the United States. The company's reach has now expanded to over 9,000 stores around the world in 61 different countries. Dunkin's Next Donut Winner
In 2009, Dunkin' Donuts held a contest for people across the United States to create the company's next donut. The winner was Jeff Hager from Hoover Alabama, who made a donut called Toffee for your Coffee. Glazed with sour cream and topped with Heath Bar, the donut is now sold at Dunkin' Donut locations.
