  • Political Career

    In 2002, Hunter became chairman for the House Armed Services Committee. He was also one of the 2008 presidential candidates, who withdrew from the election race on January 19, 2008, following the Nevada Caucus.
  • Positions

    On February 2, 2005, Hunter placed the bill H.R. 552, The Right to Life Act, before Congress, in an attempt to protect the life of each born and unborn child. The hearings for the bill were scheduled to begin on December 12, 2006, but were canceled before the House adjourned. Hunter is also opposed to international trade agreements and has voted against NAFTA, CAFTA and the WTO.
