Five people were shot on January 9, 2009, outside Dunbar High School, Chicago, Illinois. Authorities say the shootings occurred around 8p.m. CT. Basketball games had been underway fro about 4 hours and some students were leaving the building when the gunfire broke out.
The five male victims all suffered gunshot wounds and were taken to area hospitals. Two were in a serious condition, one was critical and one was stable. A female victim was also injured in a fall and was said to be in a stable condition.
Witness, Shaneisha Turman, 15, described standing in the doorway of the gym when a silver truck pulled up to a nearby bus stop. The truck's occupants pretended to shoot then actually began shooting. Police are investigating security cameras to help with the investigation. No arrests have currently been made.
