Duke of Westminster

Queen Victoria established the title of Duke of Westminster in 1874. Holding the current title of the "Duke of Westminister" is Gerald Cavendish. The first Duke was Richard Grosvenor, who had previously been the 3rd Marquess of Westminster. The Grosvenor family made their fortune in real estate, and the Grosvenor Group is still a successful property company based in London. The current Duke, the sixth Duke of Westminster, has been implicated in the Emperors Club VIP prostitution scandal, which caused the resignation of New York Governor Eliot Spitzer.
