Moises Dueñas Nevado, a Spanish professional cyclist competing in the 2008 Tour de France for the team Barloworld, tested positive for the blood doping agent erythropoietin (EPO) in July. Police subsequently raided Dueñas Nevado's hotel room, where they found banned substances. Doping at the Tour
Dueñas Nevado is only one in a long line of cyclists to be removed from the Tour after testing positive for blood doping agents. In 2006, tour winner Floyd Landis was stripped of his title after testing positive for synthetic testosterone.
