Ducks are aquatic birds that can be found in both fresh water and sea water, and is the name used to describe a number of Anatidae species of birds.
"You're Despicable"
The duck is easily distinguishable by it's wide and flat beak, and contrary to popular notions, most ducks do not make quacking noises when communicating. Most females of the species are actually referred to as ducks while the males are referred to as mallards. Baby ducks are known as ducklings. Most ducks that exist in the Northern Hemisphere are migratory, and because of their inability to fly, they are easy targets for aquatic hunters such as crocodiles and pike, as well as human hunters. Ducks are also a leading source for coat insulation. In popular culture, specifically in cartoons, the duck has been used primarily as a foil to a main character. Examples of these are Donald Duck and Daffy Duck.
