In this episode Deputy Droopy has been given the task of guarding gold for the sheriff. There are two outlaw dogs that are determined to steal the gold, which has been placed in a safe by the sheriff. Droopy Dog is instructed to signal the sheriff by making a noise if anyone tries to steal the gold. If Droopy makes a noise, the sheriff will rush in shooting. Droopy Dog delights in tormenting the outlaws by setting traps to harm them. These traps cause the outlaws to scream out in pain. The outlaws make sure to hold their scream long enough to be out of the ear shot of the deputy before releasing it. The episode ends by the outlaws turning themselves into the sheriff, so as to suffer no more pain from Droopy Dog. It was not until they were locked in the jail cell by Droopy, that they realized that the sheriff’s hearing aid battery was dead and he couldn’t hear a thing.
