The Motorola Droid, sold by Verizon Wireless as the Verizon Droid is a smartphone running the Google Android 2.0. Reviews of the phone have been limited, as it has yet to be released, and was kept quiet until just before it is to hit stores. Boy Genius Report did get a hands on review and finds the Droid to be impressive.http://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/10/19/motorola-droid-hands-on/
Reviews
"Awesome capacitive display. Plus it's huge. Easily the best screen we've ever seen on an Android handset, and an amazing screen overall. . . . Have we mentioned this phone flies? It's the Android device to beat, and easily the most impressive. From what we've been told, Google had a direct hand in the Motorola Droid. Something to the point of almost dictating every move Motorola made when designing and making the phone." -- Boy Genius Reporthttp://www.boygeniusreport.com/2009/10/19/motorola-droid-hands-on/
"Text is ridiculously crisp . . . . Besides clarity, touch response seems dead on. The keyboard works way better than it looks." -- Matt Buchanan, Gizmodo
"[A] real competitor to Apple's device. . . . Though many users will welcome a physical keyboard, we weren't particularly impressed." -- Kent German and Bonnie Cha, CNET
"Especially snappy is the Droid's Web browser, which loads images quickly thanks to the powerful 550MHz processor and speedy hardware-accelerated graphics . . . . Video from sites such as YouTube looks equally impressive." -- PC World
