Verizon Droid, initially thought to be synonymous with the Motorola Droid appears to be the name of a series of phones rather than one specific model. Several blogs report that as many as three separate phones will be released in 2009 under the name Droid. In addition to the initially reported Droid, previously known as the Motorola Sholes, one of the phones, according to Brighthand.com one Droid is likely to be a tablet phone, possibly resembling the HTC Hero. Another possible droid phone is a second Motorola phone. It's assumed that all Droid phones will run Google's new Android 2.0 operating system.
