Drexel University is a private university that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees.
History
Drexel University was founded in 1891 as the Drexel Institute of Art, Science and Industry by Philadelphia financier and philanthropist Anthony J. Drexel. In 1936, the name was changed to the Drexel Institute of Technology and in 1970, it gained its university status.Drexel University: [http://www.drexel.edu/about/glance.aspx History.
The Campus
Drexel is divided into three campuses all located in the city of Philadelphia: the 60-acre University City Main campus, the Queen Lane Medical campus and the Center City Hahnemann Campus.
There is also a small satellite campus in southern New Jersey that is known as Drexel at BCC because of its location at the Burlington County College in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey.
Drexel has recently expanded, with a satellite campus in Sacramento, CA; the Sacramento Center for Graduate Studies.
