    Born on February 22, 1975, in Culver City, California, Barrymore is the daughter of actors John Drew Barrymore and Ildiko Jaid Barrymore. She has three siblings: actor John Blyth Barrymore, Blyth Dolores Barrymore, and Brahma Jessica Blyth Barrymore.

    Barrymore was born into a long line of actors dating back nearly 200 years. The acting bloodline includes grandparents, great-grandparents and great-great grandparents. Barrymore married bar owner Jeremy Thomas on March 20, 1994, but they divorced a month later. She married again on July 7, 2001, exchanging vows with comedian Tom Green. The couple stayed together for a little over a year.

  • Acting Career

    When Barrymore was 11 months old, she appeared in a dog food commercial. She made her film debut in the 1980 science fiction film Altered States. In 1982, she became famous for the role of Gertie in the film E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial. In 1984, she appeared in the film Irreconcilable Differences for which she won a Golden Globe Award.

    Barrymore's career died down until 1992, when she played the role of an evil seductress in the film Poison Ivy. She went on to play in more successful films such as Scream, The Wedding Singer, 50 First Dates and Fever Pitch.
