After you defeat the Arishok, you will once again go forward a few years and see how your status in the city has risen. With the Arishok defeated, the focus of the game now switches to the Templar/ Mage struggle that you have seen (and been a part of) for the whole game. For all of Act 3, the player will essentially have to decide which side he/she supports, and act accordingly.
