Dragon Age 2 - A New Path is a companion quest for Merrill in Act 3. For this walkthrough, players will continue the Eluvian mirror storyline from earlier Merrill quests. The quest ends with a fight against a Pride Demon, the most powerful type of demon in the game, and finishes the Elven  subplot.

1. To aquire the quest, you need to first finish the "Best Served Cold" quest, and then speak with Merrill.
2. Agree to help her.
3. Go to the Sundermount.
4. Speak with the Keeper in the Dalish camp and make your way up the mountain as you did for previous quests.
5. Enter the passage, go all the way until the Graveyard exit and go outside.
6. Continue moving up the mountain as you kill the Undead.
7. Enter the Pride's End cave.
8. After the lengthy cutscene, engage the demon. The fight is actually quite easy, contrary to how powerful the demon appears.
9. Afterwards, you will have to 2 dialogue options with the Keeper. If you choose "I'm Glad it's over", you will have to fight the Demon at half hp once again, AND the Keeper will stab Merrill. If you choose the second dialogue option, you kill the Keeper and the fight is over.
10. Leave the cave. You will be confronted by a group of Dalish elves.
11. If you choose to tell them the truth, saying that the Keeper was possessed, they will attack you, and you will also have to fight the Elves down at the camp. If you choose "I'll take the responsibility" the elves will let you go.
12. Speak with Merrill in her home afterwards.
