Dragon Age 2 is the sequel to Bioware's 2009 Game of the Year, Dragon Age: Origins. Like its predecessor, Dragon Age 2 is published by Electronic Arts, and will be available on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC. Dragon Age 2 will be available on March 11, 2011.

Story of Dragon Age 2 takes place in the same world as the first game, but tells the story of Hawke, a Lothering refugee, who is a survivor of the Darkspawn Horde's destruction of Lothering. Similar to its predecessor, players are forced to fight for survival in the magical ever-changing world. Players will meet many unique and rich characters along the adventure, and must gather allies to become the champion of Kirkland.

Dragon Age 2 will give players the option to import saved game from the original Dragon Age, so that choices and characters that were engaged in the first game will be alter the sequel's as well. Unlike the first game, however, players will not have the ability to choose a race for their Hawke character, but are able to customize their gender, profession, and appearance. The non-linear story is told through interactive dialogs that will either have small effects on the character's personality, or huge impacts on the game's world. .

The demo version of the game was released on all three consoles on Feb 22, 2011, where players had the chance to see how the game's new mechanics worked, and how the game played out. This demo brings players through previews of two different chapters within the full game, giving the players an early game experience as well as what the game feels like mid-way through. This walkthrough will guide players through the two chapters available within Dragon Age 2 Demo, and gameplay differences between the three classes available for the demo.

1. Prior to the opening cinematic, you will be given a choice of 6 characters to choose from, the Mage, Warrior, and Rogue, each with a choice of male or female.
2. The Mage uses powerful long ranged attacks such as fireball and bolts of arcane magic. They are physically weak themselves and requires support from group mates in the heat of battle.
3. The Warrior can be a two-handed weapon wielding brawler with strong melee attacks or a defensive fighter who uses sword and shield to mitigate damage caused onto themselves and others.
4. The Rogue is a sneaky profession who excels at one-on-one battles due to their ability to stealth and sneak into enemy ranks. Rogues can also use a bow and arrow for long ranged physical attacks.
5. After the opening cinematic, you will be faced immediately with waves of Hurlock soldiers, which you will need to defeat.
6. Follow the on-screen tutorial on how to use the abilities present on your hotkeys. 
7. Engage the enemy with A and your character will auto attack them with the present weapon. When engaged with an enemy, you can use one of the abilities shown on the face buttons.
8. Once the first two waves of enemies are defeated, an ogre will join the battle, this big guy is dangerous if you do not avoid his attacks. Stun or use heavy attacks on him to take him out as soon as possible. Move side to side to avoid his charge. 
9. After the defeat of the ogre, several cinematics will play.

1. After viewing the cinematics, an interactive cutscene conversation will start which will prompt you to converse in the dialog paths. 
2. After the cutscene finishes, you will have control of your party once more, and to the right you will see a dead refugee, if you're a warrior or a rogue, you can click on it to switch your weapons if you desire. 
3. Follow the path down, if you ever get lost, there is a convenient minimap on the top right corner of the screen to show you the direction.
4. More Hurlocks will appear, take them out as you did in the previous battle.
5. You have the option of taking control of any of your party member anytime during battle, for a more strategical combat. 
6. After the battle, your characters may level up. Go into the menu screen and select the leveled up character to assign abilities and attributes to him or her.
7. You may build your characters according to your own playstyle, but keep in mind that each class will have attribute points that benefit them more than the others. For example, a warrior would require more strength and constitution, while a rogue will require dexterity, and mage need willpower and magic.
8. Pick up anything the dead bodies leave behind. Even though you won't be able to equip any of the items that are dropped in this demo, you will still able to use the potions.
9. Keep going down the road, where a cutscene conversation will start. Right after the cutscene, more enemies will come at you.
10. After the battle, you will have one more party member, she is another warrior, but uses a sword and shield with defensive abilities.

1. After the cutscene, you will be in the middle of a battle again, defeat the Hurlocks and level up any character that has gained a level.
2. Move along the path and you will be greeted by more minions for you to kill, defeat them and another dialog cutscene will start.
3. Make sure to use the mage's fire area-of-effect skill to damage and take out multiple enemies at once.
4. In the next cutscene, the big ogre will appear, killing one of your party member. when the battle starts, use the defensive warrior to focus on defending against the small minions, while the mage use her AoE skills on them. Then take control of your character and focus on the ogre, stunning him and avoiding his charges.
5. A cutscene will play with your party mourning the dead.

1. After the cutscene, another wave of enemies will appear, defeat a few of these guys and the next cutscene will trigger.
2. This interactive dialog cutscene will end this first chapter of the demo.

1. After a fairly long cutscene, you will be much higher level, and the event will be taken place right in the middle of a battle.
2. Pause the game and take the time to level up your characters, distribute the skills and attributes however you wish.
3. After you've defeated the first set of enemies, make sure you follow the character of Isabella, as she heads west into another battle. 
4. You can test out each of your character's new abilities and defeat this next set of enemies that appear.
5. Once they're all defeated, continue to follow Isabella upstairs. 
6. Click on the door to enter it, where you will be greeted by two people, and a cutscene will begin. The cutscene will end and you will have to fight Hayder and his minions. He is fairly easy as he only uses normal attacks, and they are slow and easy to dodge.
7. Once you defeat him and his goons, a cinematics will begin, thus ending the demo to Dragon Age 2.

1. The warrior excels in melee combat and is not afraid to dash into battle with his/her two-handed sword.
2. The two handed sword is capable of dealing high damaging single attacks as well as large area sweeps to enemies with skills such as whirlwind.
3. Warriors can so use the hilt of their sword to stun an enemy, temporarily disabling them allowing for party members to deal high damage .

1. With a sword and shield, the warrior can go into a guard stance, increasing their defensive power.
2. As a defender, the sword and shield warrior can taunt any enemy near them to make them attack the warrior, reducing the damage done onto his/her party members.
3. The shield can also be used as a weapon to deal quick blunt damage onto a single enemy.

1. A melee dual wielding rogue has many abilities that gives them the upper hand in combat, or escape from one when it's not going in their favor.
2. Rogues can instantly teleport behind an enemy and deal backstab damage or kick a Miasma bomb into a group of enemies to burn and stun them all. 
3. After finishing a quick and devastating combo, a rogue can get out of combat with a backflip to dodge any attacks the enemy has planned. Then reengage the enemy by dashing into the enemy and knocking them down.

1. A rogue can forsake his/her melee weapons for a bow and arrow, which they can do devastating attacks from afar while dodging any attacks from the enemies.
2. With the bow, the rogue can ignite an arrow with explosives and shoot it into a group of enemies for a devastating attack that can blow everything up. 
3. When a big enemy is approaching, a rogue can use a powerful arrow to pin the enemy in place and then shower it with a flying barrage of arrows.

1. Mages are the master of elements, conjuring fire, frost, and arcane out of their staves. Mages excel at long ranged combat, and can deal massive amounts of damage, given that they are not getting hit by the enemy.
2. With the power of elements at their disposal, mages can create cones of ice which freezes all enemies in front of them in place, or conjure up a rain of fire to decimate large groups of incoming enemies.
3. Along with AoEs, mages can also use damage-over-time arcane spells that will slowly kill an enemy. 
4. In addition to damaging spells, mages are also proficient in healing and disabling spells that can aid their party members greatly in battle.
