Dr. Demento is a radio personality specializing in novelty, comedy and parody songs. Dr. Demento (Barret Hansen) began as a rock & roll DJ. After receiving numerous requests for odd songs like "The Purple People Eater" and "The Monster Mash" he branched out into novelty songs.
