Biology professor Dr. Amy Bishop-(Anderson) was arrested on Friday, February 12, 2010, in connection to the University of Alabama shooting which left three people dead and three more injured. According to reports, Bishop began firing during a biology faculty meeting in the Huntsville campus at approximately 4:00 p.m. The victims were named as the Chairman of Biological Sciences Dr. Gopi K. Podila, Dr. Maria Ragland Davis and Dr. Ariel Johnson. The three that were wounded include Dr. Luis Cruz-Vera, Dr. Joseph G. Leahy and Stephanie Monticciolo. Dr. Bishop had taught at UAHuntsville since 2003. Before going to Alabama, she attended Harvard's Department of Genetics where she received her doctorate. At approximately 4:00 p.m. on the afternoon of February 12, 2010, Amy Bishop opened fire in the midst of a faculty meeting at the Huntsville campus of the University of Alabama. Shot Brother in 1986?
On Saturday, February 13, 2010, the day after the University of Alabama shooting, police in Massachusetts said that in 1986, Bishop shot her brother, Seth Bishop in the chest.
