Chris Rock stars as a comedian whose spirit inhabits the body of a rich white businessman in the comedy film Down to Earth.
Plot Summary
Aspiring comedian Lance Barton (Chris Rock)'s life is abruptly cut short when an amateur angel removes his spirit from his body before schedule. According to the laws of Heaven, no one can be admitted before their specified time, so Barton's spirit is returned to Earth. However, his body was destroyed in a car accident, so he inhabits the body of wealthy businessman Charles Wellington. Besides trying to pass himself off as the real Charles Wellington, Barton must also foil a murder plot masterminded by Wellington's wife. Meanwhile, Barton finds himself falling for a woman who is determined to ruin Wellington's career.
