American professional hockey player Doug Weight plays for the New York Islanders in the National Hockey League.

NHL Career
Weight was drafted 34th overall in the 1990 NHL draft by the New York Rangers. He made his NHL debut with the Rangers in 1991 and played nearly two seasons with the team before he was traded to the Edmonton Oilers on March 17, 1993. Weight stayed with the Oilers until July 1, 2001, when he was sent to the St. Louis Blues. He continued with the Blues until the 2004-05 NHL lockout, when he played in Germany for the Frankfurt Lions. Weight returned to the Blues after the lockout and was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes on January 30, 2006. He helped the Hurricanes win the Stanley Cup Championship the same year, then returned to the Blues as a free agent on July 2, 2006. He spent another season and a half with the Blues before he was traded to the Anaheim Ducks on December 14, 2007. He completed the 2007-08 season with the Ducks and signed as a free agent with the New York Islanders on July 2, 2008.
