Career
While still in high school, Fieger joined his first musical ground, called Sky. The band produced two records before Fieger signed a solo contract with Capitol Records. During this period, he also played with the band The Sunset Bombers.
He formed The Knack in 1973 along with Berton Averre, Prescott Niles and Bruce Gary, with Averre as his primary songwriting partner. Fieger was the band's primary singer. The band parted ways after the 1981 album Round Trip, though Averre and Niles continue to tour as "The Knack."
