Doug E Fresh

Categories: Entertainment
  • The first human beatbox in the rap world, and often considered the best of all time, Doug E. Fresh amazed audiences with his note-perfect imitations of drum machines, effects, and often large samples of hip-hop classics.
  • Career

Doug E. Doug first appeared on record in 1983 as a member of the Boo Dah Bliss Crew and within a year had gained popularity as a backup for the Treacherous Three. The following year, after seeing success as a solo artist, he teamed with the Get Fresh Crew and Slick Rick to release The Show and La Di Da Di which were huge hits in the growing hip hop community. A full album was released soon after and the second album followed in 1988. Fresh worked on two more albums in the early 1990s but did not receive the success he had seen in the 80s. Since then he has focused on collaborations with other musicians, producing and taking gigs as an MC at various high profile events.
