Doomsday is a futuristic Science Fiction film about a virus outbreak that devastates Scotland. Thirty years after Scotland was quarantined and walled off from the rest of the world, a woman (Rhona Mitra) is forced to brave the infested country in order to find a cure for the disease which has re-emerged in neighboring England. Released in 2008 and directed by Neil Marshall, the movie is similar in style to such dystopian thrillers as Mad Max and Escape from New York. The film received mixed reviews at the time of its released and generate a modest box office total.
