Doom is a 2005 film adaptation of Doom, the popular video game series. It is loosely based upon the storyline of the games, where a futuristic space station on Mars is suddenly overrun by monsters. A team of marines are deployed to the station to eliminate the threat and secure the station. The film stars former WWE wrestler, The Rock (a.k.a. Dwayne Johnson) as Sarge.
Doomed Performance
The movie was covered by a variety of media, including not only traditional film marketing but also video game publications because of its source material. As a nod to the fan-base, a portion of the film was filmed from a first-person view as an homage to the appearance of the video games. Despite all this, however, the movie was badly received by movie critics for its action movie cliches and by computer game enthusiasts for omitting major plot points from the original video games. Even star, Dwayne Johnson has made fun of the film in published interviews.

- "...we didn't wanna rely on the CGI. Those effects still haven't quite got to the level where you fully believe it - certainly not for long periods of time." — -Producer John Wells
