Communications Overview
- TIP: If you exit a level with low health, be sure to grab the first available Medkit when you enter the next level - you'll need it, as health carries over from one level to the next.
- Once you're in the Communications Garage, shoot the Cacodemon that spawns on your right. In the floor you'll find a hole that drops to a passage - enter it, and move through the tunnel to find armor and ammo. Once you grab the ammo, an Imp spawns in the main part of the garage, so be ready for him.
- Crawl out back to the main garage area, and kill the Imp that spawns outside. Go up the stairs on your left and use the elevator door, kill the Cacodemon that spawns behind you, and use the elevator to reach the third floor Communications Access.
- When you reach the top, a Z-SEC will fire at you from across the way through a gunport in the wall. Head down the hall to your right and a Zombie and Wraith will appear behind you, kill them and use the "Open Maintenance Hatch" button next to the top of the elevator - it opens a small door left of the exit that leads to an area with armor and health. Go through the door to the Skyway, and follow the path until you find yourself in the Communication Lobby.
- Two Z-SEC Zombies will charge you as you enter, so take them down. To the right you'll find a control panel to unlock one of the doors here. Use it, kill the two Z-SEC Zombies and Cacodemon that appear, and head through the unlocked door. There's a Health Station if you need it, keep moving to the Communications Hallway.
- In the hallway, an explosion occurs on your right. Afterwards, two Z-SEC Zombies attack, one being right behind you, so mow them down. Keep moving through the hallway to the next room. To your left is a locked door, so keep moving and go downstairs to find the Main Communications room.
- Looks like this won't be how you send your message. Time to find another way to transmit, so grab the PDA in here and backtrack to the previous room. There's a Z-SEC, a Zombie, and an Imp here - kill them, and use your new security clearance to open the previously locked door.
- Left of the door, a Zombie appears. Head down the path and open the next door to fight an Imp and a Z-SEC, then step into the Comm Engineering Lift 1. Call the lift to you and ride it to the lower level. To your right is a Fat Zombie - kill him. Hop off the lift, kill the Imp that jumps at you, and head down the hallway, killing the Z-SEC Zombies that charge you from the door before you head into the next area.
- On your left, above you, an Imp is throwing fireballs. Move forward, kill the Z-SEC on your left, and check behind him for some health items before you head into the next set of doors. Left of the doors is an Imp, kill it and you'll find a button that opens the maintenance vents - turn around after pressing it to find the vent. Three Wraiths will spawn as you explore the area, so be sure to kill them.
- After fighting another Zombie and Imp, head through the next door. Follow the path until you reach a junction, then head down the middle path and kill the Imp that spawns on your right. Head down the path through the door to Comm Engineering Storage 1.
- The room has a few Zombies in it, kill them and explore the back area. An Imp will spawn behind you and two more Zombies will break open a door in the back of the storage room. Kill them all, and collect the health, then prepare for some platform jumping. Shoving the barrels around to create a platform to jump up to the upper level, head through the door to the outer catwalk and follow it to the end to get some Plasma Gun ammo. Backtrack to the storage room, jump down to the lower level, and head back to the Comm Engineering Unit 1 room. Now head down the other branch of the path to find Comm Engineering Lift 2.
- Call the lift and ride it up to find an Imp that's waiting on you. Keep moving through to the Comm Systems hallway and take out the group of Z-SEC Zombies around the corner of the platform. At the end of the walkway you'll find another PDA, and under the stairway you can find armor shards.
- After entering the door to Comm Engineering Unit 2, head down the hallway to find some Cacodemons to shoot. Further in you'll find a Z-SEC and a locked door on your right. Enter the Security Office to the left and kill the Z-SEC, then use the code 246 to open the security cabinet in the room. Use the control panel to activate a sentry, then follow the sentry back to the previous hall - it'll open the locked door.
- Keep following it and it'll kill all your enemies for you. Once you reach Comm Engineering Unit 2, be wary - the sentry bot will stop periodically to open another locked door, and enemies will spawn behind you that you have to kill (the sentry bot will be too far away by then to recognize the targets). Eventually you'll be in the Thermal Control room, and the sentry bot deactivates.
- Call the elevator and ride it up to Satellite Control. Grab the PDA here, and head down the to the skyway. Once you enter the Satellite Control Center, use the control panel and send your transmission - you'll have an option to cancel and a warning that you'd better not send it. Send it anyway, and backtrack to the elevator to ride to Maintenance.
- Left of the door is a Z-SEC - kill it, and a couple of Imps spawn from the hall on your right. Kill them all and walk down the hallway, then head through the next door. To the left are two Imps throwing fireballs, and at the end, another elevator. Use the elevator to Communications. Return to the Communications Access room and take the Monorail exit to your left.

Monorail Skybridge Overview
- TIP: Use your Chainsaw on Zombie enemies that don't carry weapons - it's great fun and conserves ammo.
- The ceiling collapses as soon as you move forward, so you'll need to quickly kill the two Cacodemons that spawn in and drop to the surface below. From there, turn left and move towards the airlock to reach the Access Hall.
- Move down the hallway, kill the Pinky that charges you from around the corner, and walk around the corner to the right. A Zombie and Maggot will attack, and at the end of the hallway you'll fight a Fat Zombie and a Maggot (which attacks from behind). Use the Health Station if you need to, then move to the Storage 1 room.
- CUTSCENE: After entering the Storage 1 room, the player is attacked by a Revenant.
- Kill the Revenant while dodging its missile attack and climb up the ramp to the upper level. On the right is a small storage room, with an Imp and ammo inside. Another Revenant will attack from the door at the end of the room - shoot it, head through the door, and move to Storage 2.
- A Pinky will attack from around the wall up ahead - kill it, and shoot the Fat Zombie on your right. There's an Imp in back of the room with some more items - grab them and head to the next room, Elevator Access Top Floor.
- Once you enter, an Imp spawns behind you, and some Maggots. Move to the lift, call it, and ride it down to the Elevator Access Basement. Maggots are waiting, and another is around the corner on the left. Head down the hallway, and the path splits - head either way, kill the Revenant that's posted guard there, and you'll arrive at the same doorway no matter which path you took. From the junction head to your left and get the armor, then keep moving to open the door in the center of the hallway - an Imp leaps at you, so be ready with the Shotgun.
- Around the corner on your right is a Pinky, and there are more waiting in the hallway. Once you reach the narrow part of the hallway Maggot spawns behind you just before you reach the Secondary Pump room.
- In the room are three Fat Zombies - two are hiding behind pillars. Kill them, and kill the Imp, Maggot, and regular Zombies that appear as well, then go upstairs and shoot the Imp and Maggot on the catwalk. At the top of the stairs around the corner on your right is a Revenant - throw some grenades in there with it to kill it, and head to the Central Maintenance room.
- Left of the door is an Imp, and to the right on the upper level is a Revenant. Use the door as cover to avoid the rockets, and kill it before you head further into the room. A Maggot will attack from the left doorway when you move further in. Head to the left and exit to the Toxic Waste Processing area. The floor here is saturated with toxic waste that damages you (another Doom II nostalgia moment...), so turn right and jump to the crooked platforms that lead back to another section of Central Maintenance.
- Two Imps attack here from the left, and after you go upstairs and kill the Imp and Maggot waiting on you, you can collect some health and armor. Move on, and you'll find a computer terminal that holds a Video Disk and a PDA - use one of the monitors to extend the service ladder, and head up the ladder that drops on your right.
- This leads to the Upper Maintenance Hall, where two Imps are waiting. Kill them, head through the room until you reach the hole in the wall, and drop onto the pipes underneath you. Follow the right hand pipe to reach a platform, and a Cacodemon will spawn before you get to the other side. Kill him, then activate the monitor to shut down the pump station. Turn left and climb the ladder to return to Central Maintenance. Drop down here and head through the door to re-enter the Toxic Waste Processing room.
- Once you enter, an Imp spawns in between explosive barrels - use your Pistol and blow it up. On your right is an alcove with ammo that spawns another Imp in the main area. Use the ladder on your right to reach the Secondary Level. There are two Pinkies around the right corner, so kill them and grab the ammo from around the left corner. Keep moving to the Underground Tunnel and be ready for a swarm of Trites. Keep an eye on your back, as Trites are fond of coming up behind you here. At the end of the tunnel is an Imp, right before you reach the Secondary Level.
- Around the corner here is a Maggot, and through the door is a Revenant sniping you from the far end of the room. Trites will crawl up behind you as you fight the Revenant, so keep an eye open for them. Head into the Toxic Waste Disposal area, and use the brick path on the other side of the room to avoid the toxic waste here. As you progress, you'll find an Imp to kill, and at the end of the walkway from a door a Revenant will walk in front of you. Head into the Toxic Disposal Maintenance room.
- Once you kill the Maggot here, grab the PDA and shoot the next Maggot that appears. Head down the hallway, kill the Imp, and grab the Rocket Launcher and Rockets in back of this room. Keep moving until you reach the airlock, then continue out to Mars Surface - there's a Revenant above you firing rockets. Shoot him down (try out the new Rocket Launcher, if you like), and check to your right to find another Revenant attacking from within a garage. Enter the garage and jump on the crates to get to the roof, then follow the pipes to the exit while dodging the Cacodemon projectiles to complete the level.
