  • Donte Whitner is a professional football player for the the Buffalo Bills in the National Football League. A starter since his rookie season in 2006, Whitner was the team's first pick and the eighth overall.

    On April 11, 2009, Whitner was arrested outside the House of Blues in Cleveland, Ohio. Police allege that Whitner was involved in a near-riot situation and swung his arms when officers attempted to contain him.     Finishing third on the team in tackles with 102, Donte Whitner was the only Buffalo Bill defender to take every snap for the first fifteen games of the 2007 season. His best game came against the New England Patriots on September 23, where he had a team leading 11 tackles. His only interception of the season came in week 13 versus the Miami Dolphins.
